Being simultaneously a Florida girl and a California girl, the scent of anything related to oranges is like heaven for me. I’m a bit of an orange oil fanatic, as well, using it for home cleaning, bug repellant and in beauty products…. and perhaps one future day, ideally for tires, perhaps even on an electric car…
Every year that I attend the Los Angeles Auto Show, I make a point of visiting the Yokohama Orange Oil Tire exhibit, which is usually located outside the entrance to West Hall at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
The tires, which have been on the market for years, literally smell like oranges (instead of acrid pitch).
One of the most important aspects of these remarkable wheels is that they are eco-friendly and produced from what many would toss out as a waste product - orange peels.
